Our Story
The Story
In 2011, a group of friends were sitting in a sauna with a glass of whisky when they started wondering why nobody was making whisky in Finland. The idea of starting their own distillery still seemed like a good one the next morning, and that is where Kyrö began. The distillery makes rye-based spirits: rye whisky and rye gin, using rye as the foundation for every expression. The first Finnish rye whisky, Kyrö Malt, was released in 2019 and won gold at the IWSC that year.
