Our principle: NIX18
Pineapple Drinks Club sells alcoholic beverages only to people aged 18 and over, in line with the Dutch Alcohol Act (Alcoholwet) and the national NIX18 standard. Age is checked at multiple points: entry to the shop, at checkout, and again on delivery.
Age gate
On first visit, an age gate asks visitors to confirm they are 18 or older. Anyone who declines is unable to browse the shop. This is a first, self-declared check, and it does not replace the verification steps below.
Verification at checkout
Before an order is placed, the customer must enter their date of birth and confirm they are 18 or older. The date of birth is validated on our server (a checkbox alone is not enough), and orders from anyone under 18 are refused. The moment of confirmation is recorded with the order. Verification on delivery
Alcohol is handed over only to a person who is demonstrably 18 or older. Our carrier may ask for valid photo ID (passport, ID card or driving licence) on delivery. If age cannot be established, the order is not handed over and is returned.
Refusal & records
We refuse any sale where age cannot be verified, including where we suspect a purchase on behalf of a minor. We keep the minimum records needed to demonstrate compliance and handle personal data in line with our Privacy Policy.
Trade accounts
Approved trade customers warrant that they are licensed to purchase and resell alcohol and will not resell to anyone under 18. See our Trade Terms.
