ArteNOM Selección de 1146, Añejo
Made at Casa Tequileña under the direction of Enrique Fonseca, a master distiller who learned wood treatment and aging techniques from winemakers in France. That experience shows in the aging of this 1146 Añejo, which uses both red wine casks and American oak.
Style: rich, warm, and layered. Flavor: butterscotch, citrus, baking spices, vanilla, toffee, walnut, custard, orange zest, and dark chocolate. Production: double distillation, followed by a two-phase aging on both ex-Cabernet Franc wine casks and American oak. Character: a deeply aromatic añejo with the structure and finesse of a winemaker: Fonseca's combination of agave intensity and wood balance.
