Pandan Collins: Dutch-Indonesian Flavour in a Glass

The Collins is one of bartending’s most versatile templates—spirit, citrus, sweetener, soda, long and refreshing. Replacing simple syrup with Bandoeng’22 Pandan Liqueur transforms the formula entirely, introducing a grassy, nutty, floral dimension that is completely unlike any other Collins variation.
The Spec
- 45ml London Dry gin (or Four Pillars Rare Dry)
- 25ml fresh lemon juice
- 25ml Bandoeng’22 Pandan Liqueur
- 60ml soda water. Build over ice in a highball
- Stir gently
- Garnish with a lemon slice and a pandan leaf (or cucumber ribbon as an alternative)
Flavour Notes
The pandan liqueur provides both sweetness and aromatics simultaneously. The gin’s botanical structure gives the drink backbone. Fresh lemon lifts everything. The result is refreshing, unusual and genuinely memorable.
Variation: Pandan Vodka Collins
Swap gin for vodka for a cleaner, more pandan-forward expression. The neutrality of a premium wheat vodka allows the Bandoeng’22 character to take centre stage.
